Stitched Raw Edge Appliqué

All levels - ½ day

Explore the details of this great machine appliqué technique featured in Sue’s book “Stitched Raw Edge Appliqué from AQS co-authored with her sister Pat Holly. A small amount of fusible is used to seal the edge yet leaves the block soft.  The stitching makes this project secure for washing. Students will work on a simple flower block that can be incorporated into a small quilt project.  *Kit provided for one block

Note to workshop organizer- Sue needs to know one month prior to workshop number of kits to prepare
 
Supply List

Sewing Machine- blanket stitch used
Don’t forget your sewing machine foot pedal and power cord
Open Toe Appliqué Foot- a MUST for machine appliqué
(sometimes called an open toe embroidery foot)
Scissors- small embroidery type for cutting small pieces.
Sharp pencil and eraser
Iron and small ironing board (one for every 4-5 students is fine)
Extension cord/multi-plug strip

Kit fee $10.00
Kit will include fabric, paper backed fusible web and thread for one block.
